Fijians are famous for being the friendliest people on earth ... so nothing suits them more than being hosts on their beautiful islands.
Once you arrive at Maravu Resort, Laite will meet and greet you. She is the Guest Relations Manager and knows everything about the Resort and the Island. Maravu Resort is a 90 acre Coconut Plantation Garden and it needs a couple of strong Fijian Gardeners to keep it manicured. Umesh puts his knowledge into growing organic vegetables and herbs on the property. Isoa's family comes from an outer island so he knows everything about boats and the waters around the island of Taveuni. He can find the best spots to take you for snorkeling. The Reception Manager is Eunice who will be your great help from your first inquiry until the end of your stay. In the Service there is Tina, Tracey, Esther and Maria, the greatest Lali Drum players that call you in for pre-dinner cocktails and meals. Chukie and Suka can make any cocktail of your choice and know a lot about wines. Chefs de Cuisine are Roy, Kai and Klera, artists in creating the perfect blend of local and international dishes. Most nights except Sundays, the Maravu Bandboys play Fijian songs sitting on woven mats around the kava bowl. You are most welcome to join them and listen to Charly, a very talented musician and Sai, whose voice is especially high and clear. Maybe the hardest moment of your stay will come when it's time to leave and Fa puts a salusalu (flower necklace) around your neck while everybody is singing, clapping, and playing guitar. |
